9D/8N: Cycle Around Taiwan
說明 Introduction
This tour is the perfect solution for those who want to travel all around Taiwan by bicycle and at the same time visit the island.
A van with a licensed English-speaking guide and a cycling coach will be available during the whole tour, therefore this trip is also doable for non-cycling passengers or with friends who just want to travel around in a comfortable way to see the beautiful island of Formosa!
It includes 4 days of cycling and 3 days of travelling; of course the itinerary can be customized.
The tour can only be done with max 4 persons.
Itinerary
► After breakfast, meeting with your guide/driver and bicycle pick up.
► Transfer Taipei - Hualien
Sightseeing Stops : Yilan / Quinshui cliff
► Visit Hualien city night market, dinner at night market
► Breakfast at your hotel and meeting with your guide/driver;
► Visit Taroko Gorge National Park;
► Cycle starting from hotel to TianXiang of Taroko Gorge;
► For non-cyclists : Chishingtan beach / Swallow Grotto / Lyushuei－Heliou Trail / TianXiang;
► At the end of the tour transfer to hotel by van;
Mileages : 42KM Elevation gains : 1664M
► In the evening dinner at the night market;
► Breakfast at your hotel and meeting with your guide/driver;
► Transfer with van from Taidong to Kaohsiung.
Transfer to starting point to avoid the traffic for the cycling tour.
Follow the highway 9 southbound to Pingtung than switch to mountain highway 185.
► Transfer to Hotel (Kaohsiung city);
► Visit Kaohsiung night market; dinner at night market.
► Check in at the hotel and visit the area of the port, the old British Consulate, Pier 2 or Xizi Bay.
► Nighttime boat tour on the Love River (optional and to be book and paid on the spot).
► Breakfast at your hotel and meeting with your guide/driver;
► After breakfast, transfer by private van to Fo Guan Shan Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan (entrance is free but donations are very appreciated).
After visiting Fo Guan Shan, take the road to Sun Moon Lake.
Time to discover Sun Moon Lake and enjoy the majestic scenery.
There are several activities you can chose (OPTIONAL, to be discussed with the guide) :
► Cycle round one of the best bike paths in the world: It is about 30 km with hills and will take 3-4 hours with stops at few of the attractions along the way. A local guide will follow you and show the paths.
► Cable car overlooking the lake: On a good day you can enjoy a stunning views of the lake with the trip taking about 7 minutes each way, however in peak times the wait can be hours.
► Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village;
► Boat tour (Shueishe, Ita Thao and Xuanguang Temple piers)
► Visit Ita Thao: is the origin of Thao people; it is believed that their ancestors, originally from Alishan, chased a white deer to a faraway lake where they found an abundance of fish. They returned to their homeland, brought the whole tribe, and decided to settle down at Sun Moon Lake, as we call it today. Although tribal life is almost extinct now, a visit to Ita Thao allows you to experience the aboriginal culture and you get to taste delicious aboriginal food too.
► Antique Assam Tea Farm: Shuili Snake Kiln is the town where remains the eldest tradition of kiln-making. There is a biggest kiln work which is in the Guinness Book of Records by the size of 6.68 meters.
