說明 Introduction
Taipei is the capital city and a special municipality of Taiwan. Located in the northern tip of Taiwan, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City. It is about 25 km southwest of the northern port city Keelung. Taipei is the political, economic, educational, and cultural center of Taiwan, and one of the major hubs of the Chinese-speaking world. Considered to be a global city, Taipei is part of a major high-tech industrial area. Taipei is also home to various world-famous architectural or cultural landmarks.
The history of the Taipei Zoo can be traced back over 90 years. In 1914, when Taiwan was still under Japanese sovereignty, a Japanese man whose last name was Oe established a private zoological garden in Yuan-shan in the northern suburbs of Taipei City. With the increase of social awareness concerning natural conservation and environmental education, the Taipei Zoo, well-equipped with expertise regarding animal care and the knowledge of natural history, has committed itself to serving as a leader in environmental education and wildlife conservation. The Zoo’s combined area is 165 hectares, with 90 hectares being open to the public. The facilities comprise exhibition buildings (the Education Center, the Penguin House, the Koala House, the Amphibian and Reptile House and the Insectarium), as well as exhibition areas (the Formosan Animal Area, the Children's Zoo, the Asian Tropical Rainforest Animal Area, the Desert Animal Area, the Australian Animal Area, the African Animal Area, Bird World and the Temperate Zone Animal Area). There is also an outdoor nature observation area, a wetland park, and a special exhibit house.
The Maokong Gondola (Chinese: 貓空纜車; pinyin: Māokōng Lǎnchē) is the first gondola lift transportation system in Taipei. Opened on 4 July 2007, the Maokong Gondola operates between Taipei Zoo and Maokong. The line has four stations:Taipei Zoo (動物園站), outside the Taipei Zoo; Taipei Zoo South (動物園內站), inside the Taipei Zoo, Zhinan Temple (指南宮站); Maokong (Sanxuan Temple) (貓空站).
Itinerary
Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel and transfer by taxi to the Taipei Zoo.
Walk inside the Taipei Zoo, the most famous zoological garden in Taiwan and a leader in conservation, research, education and recreation. It is also the largest zoo in Asia.
Get in the Giant Panda House to see these beautiful animals and then take the shuttle train to Bird World Station and the Penguin House.
After visiting the zoo, your guide will lead you to one of the most famous tourist attractions the city can offer: Maokong Gondola. You can choose to take the normal cabin or the crystal one with the glass bottom if you feel adventurous. Either way the sightseeing will be stunning. The gondola will take you up to the top of the mountain where we will finish our tour enjoying some local food or having some delicious tea. (Drinks and food in Maokong is NOT included in the quotation).
After the visit of the area, back to Taipei and transfer by taxi to your hotel.

- This is a walking tour, bring comfortable shoes! During hot season weather could be hot, so remember to drink a lot during the tour;
- Transfer will be by taxi;
- Tour will last more or less 6 or 8 hours;
- In case of rain or bad weather the assistant can change the itinerary.
