Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy. It is a popular holiday resort located in northern Italy, about halfway between Brescia and Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliette) and between Venice and Milan on the edge of the Dolomites.
Its wider part to the south is surrounded by morainic hills that were left following the glacier recession, while the narrow northern part is enclosed by the mountains that createits fjord-shape configuration and provide a
very mild Mediterranean climate, in fact thanks to its temperate climate, grow olive, lemon, palms, cypresses, oleanders and orange trees.
The best period to visit Lake Garda is from March/April to October. In these months the temperature goes from 20gr/27gr in the spring to 30gr/32gr in the summer and 15gr/20gr in autumn.
But if you don't mind about the cold and you like the "peace", don't miss December with its magic Christmas atmosphere, it will warm you up !!!
The Alps is one of the last remaining areas with truly wild places. They are breathtaking. They are beautiful. They are one of the last strongholds of nature.
The Alps are also one of the largest and highest mountain ranges in the world. Dynamic natural processes continuously reshape the landscape and are the driving force for biological diversity.
Towering over Europe, the Alps represent one of the continent's last wild spaces.
Despite centuries of human settlement and activity, pristine wilderness can still be found throughout the region as spruce, fir, and pine trees dominate large portions of montane forest.
Deciduous tree species, like oak and beech, continue to cover large areas. Wild flowers blanket many alpine meadows.
Red deer, ibex, chamoix, marmots and other species can be found climbing high up in the mountains. And large carnivores – wolf, bear and lynx are slowly returning after almost being totally wiped out from hunting.
The natural wealth characterising the Alps also reflects the historical influence of human presence in the area.
The rich diversity of cultures, languages, and traditions in the Alps has resulted in a unique cultural landscape.
