The Carl Duisberg Training Center Berlin is located in the city’s “Mitte” district, right in the heart of the capital, in a quiet, inner courtyard so typical for Berlin. We are within walking distance of landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate, the Gendarmenmarkt and the Reichstag building. The lively street Friedrichstrasse is perfect for leisurely strolls, and the Hanns Eisler School of Music and Humboldt University are just around the corner. The Carl Duisberg Training Center is close to public transport and is easily and quickly accessible from all parts of the city. The school has 20 classrooms, a language lab, a small Internet café, and a recreation room, which is a popular meeting place for our language course participants.

► COLOGNE
The Carl Duisberg Training Center Cologne is centrally located on the edge of the city center. We are just a short walk away from the Rhine, the Cologne Cathedral, the picturesque historic district, and the pedestrian zone for shopping. We are close to public transport, with subway and commuter rail stations within walking distance.

Our language school in Cologne has 17 classrooms, most of them air-conditioned, and a language lab. The cafeteria has vending machines with hot and cold drinks as well as snacks, and there are two microwaves for student use. Our training center kitchen staff serves a warm lunch Monday through Thursday. Fresh coffee is always available, and students can prepare tea anytime. There is a university cafeteria nearby, as well as numerous inexpensive cafés and restaurants.

The Carl Duisberg Training Center Munich is located near the city center and is easily reached by public transport. Our residence and the language school are located in the same building complex. In the direct vicinity, you will find the Olympic Park and the spectacular Olympic Stadium. Munich University, the Schwabing student district, and the English Garden are also nearby.

Our training center has 21 classrooms, a language lab and a student lounge. We have vending machines providing drinks and snacks as well as a cafeteria serving small meals and drinks in the mornings for our international students.

The Carl Duisberg Training Center Radolfzell is located next to a beautiful park, the “Stadtgarten”, with a view of the old town. With a population of only around 30,000, this small town is particularly suitable for young language course participants and anyone looking to learn in a cozy, small-town environment where practically everything is within walking distance.

The training center is also located near the lake and close to Switzerland, Austria, and the Black Forest. There are numerous excursion destinations and leisure activities available nearby in the breathtaking natural surroundings. Our language school has nine classrooms, a small cafeteria, a language lab, and a party room.

Our German Intensive Course provides you with the necessary skills for your profession, further education, or private life. In our short-term courses, starting at a duration of one week, you acquire basic knowledge of German or develop your existing language skills in a targeted manner. Our long-term courses are aimed at prospective university students or those preparing for a professional qualification in Germany. In these courses, students can systematically build up the necessary German language skills to meet their specific needs and reach the required language level in a reasonably short period of time.

In addition to intensive group courses, we also offer workshops on a range of topics. These give you the opportunity to practice language skills, gain a deeper knowledge of grammar, expand your vocabulary, and learn more about current topics relating to culture and society. For each course level, there is at least one workshop appropriate for that level offered each week.

In our language lab at the center and in our online resources, the material learned in class will be reviewed. To help you learn, you will have access to a wide range of materials online and offline. For the duration of your course, you will have unrestricted access to our digital language lab, where you can improve your German skills 24/7 from anywhere with internet access.

Our varied and fun leisure program supplements the learning in the classroom.

The minimum age for the Intensive Course is 16, in Radolfzell 15. Participants with prior German language skills may begin a German course on any given Monday. Please refer to the table below for the start dates of beginner courses and a list of public holidays as well as dates when the center may be closed during the winter break. There are no classes on holidays and during the winter break. These classes will not be rescheduled.

► GERMAN CRASH COURSE
Our Crash Course combines group lessons with one-to-one lessons so that you benefit from both learning environments: the diversity of group communication and the focus on individual needs. You may choose either 5 or 10 TU of one-to-one training (general language or specialized language).

► GERMAN ONE-TO-ONE COURSE
In One-to-one Courses (min. 4 TU, general or specialized language), we are best able to focus on your individual learning goals that we determined prior to course begin in your needs analysis. Upon request, we can also integrate specific materials into lessons (e.g. documents drawn from your daily work).

► GERMAN EXAMS
During your course at Carl Duisberg Centren, you can take internationally recognized German examinations, such as telc Deutsch, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule and TestDaF. We also offer targeted preparation for these and other exams.

► GERMAN FOR SCHOOL CLASSES AND GROUPS
Carl Duisberg Centren offers programs for groups seeking to combine language courses with a variety of cultural activities and excursions in Germany. The individually customized group programs are designed for participants ages 14 and up and are available from October to May at our training centers in Berlin, Cologne, Munich and Radolfzell.

ACCOMMODATION AND ADDITIONAL SERVICES
In addition to first-rate German courses, Carl Duisberg Centren can, if you wish, provide you with a range of carefully selected accommodations. Options include a private room with a host family or in a shared apartment, individual apartments, residences, or hotels.

All of our Carl Duisberg Training Centers can be easily reached by public transport.

► PRIVATE ACCOMMODATION
Participants live with German host families (individuals/couples, with or without children) or in shared accommodation. Amenities include a fully furnished single room, often with television and Internet access. The bathroom and kitchen are shared. If several students are living together, we arrange accommodation so that course participants do not all speak the same native language. Students who wish to stay with a host family, may choose to include breakfast or half board (breakfast and dinner).

► RESIDENCES
Our residences have a uniquely international atmosphere. Students stay in simple, functional single or twin rooms and share a bathroom (shower/toilet) and kitchen with other residents.

Our residence in Munich is on the premises. In Berlin, we book single rooms in various residence buildings. All of our residences, including in Radolfzell, are conveniently located close to public transport.

► APARTMENTS
We offer fully furnished apartments for those seeking more privacy and independence. Our apartments include a living room, kitchen, and bathroom which are all for your exclusive use.

Radolfzell is the ideal place for learning languages: everything is within walking distance, the people are friendly, and our international guests are quickly made to feel at home. The peaceful town of about 30,000 inhabitants is a great place to improve your language skills and have fun with other kids and teens from all over the world.

The town is located right next to the lake and close to Switzerland, Austria, and the Black Forest, so there are plenty of exciting excursion destinations and leisure activities nearby. The lake and the beautiful natural surroundings are ideal for sports activities like swimming, biking, hiking, and canoeing.

CARL DUISBERG TRAINING CENTER RADOLFZELL

The Training Center in Radolfzell has an informal, personal atmosphere. This ensures that even the younger participants will quickly fi nd their way. For many of our young German learners, it is their fi rst time abroad, so our top priority is to provide them with full-service care and full-time supervision.

Our training center is located in a charming villa right next to the Stadtgarten, a beautiful public park, on the edge of the historic old town. In addition to nine classrooms, there is a computer room, a small cafeteria, a party room, and a lovely courtyard.

Learn languages and enjoy the holidays – that’s what our German Language Camp in Radolfzell on Lake Constance has to offer. For kids and teens ages 11 to 14, Carl Duisberg Centren has put together a varied summer camp that combines German language courses with fun leisure activities.

With three different tracks to choose from – Football, Urban Dance, and Activity – participants at the German Language Camps spend the morning learning German, followed by an exciting afternoon of activities. The camp language is almost exclusively German, which gives kids a relaxed atmosphere to directly apply and build upon what they have learned. Living, learning, and playing together is also a great way for the campers to improve their social skills and develop team spirit.

ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
Participants stay at an adventure farm, where meals are also provided.

GERMAN COURSE
Language training takes place in the morning from Monday to Friday. Course participants are divided into groups of maximum 15 students according to their language level. A short language placement test is given before the camp starts.

LEISURE PROGRAM
In the afternoon program (Football, Dance, or Activity), the camp participants join an international group, including German kids enrolled in other language courses. The activity program is designed for beginners as well as those who are more advanced in selected sports. We offer day trips on Saturdays.

FOOTBALL
► Location: local football club (FC 03 Radolfzell) training field
► Counselors: experienced FC 03 Radolfzell football coaches (native speakers)
► Program: Football techniques, basics of ball control, passing, dribbling, dummying, and of course shooting goals

URBAN DANCE
► Location: sports hall near the training center
► Counselors: qualified dancers and choreographers (native speakers)
► Program: Jazz & modern dance, hip hop moves, preparing short performances of students’ original choreography

ACTIVITY
► Location: various locations in the surrounding area, depending on the activity and weather conditions
► Counselors: experienced and athletic instructors (native speakers)
► Program: various activities around Lake Constance, such as swimming, beach volleyball, a circus workshop, canoeing, excursions to the wildlife and leisure park, campfires, raft building, and “Farmyard Olympics”

Our German courses are designed for teens aged 15 to 17 from around the world and combine intensive language training with a diverse activity program. Students may choose to discover the Lake Constance region's many outdoor sports activities in the Summer Holiday Course. The Winter Holiday Course also gives participants the opportunity to discover the region together with other young people and, weather permitting, enjoy the wide range of winter sports available in the Alps or the Black Forest.

ACCOMMODATION
Program participants stay at the Carl Duisberg residence or with homestay families. We strongly recommend that students under 16 stay with a homestay family, where younger participants receive more attention and are integrated quickly.

GERMAN COURSE
Our experienced language teachers plan lively lessons for participants in international groups, giving regular feedback on individual progress. Students attend our Intensive Course with other youths of the same age and adults from all over the world. Placement into the appropriate language course is based on an online test and a personal interview on the first day of classes.

Students will be able to apply and expand their language skills in a weekly workshop (2 TU), as well as with our instructors in the language lab.

LEISURE PROGRAM
There is a new activity program each week, providing lots of opportunities in the afternoon an on the weekend to explore Germany, get to know the culture, and speak German in relaxed, informal settings. Day trips to the state capital Stuttgart and the college town Freiburg round off the program. 

SUMMER HOLIDAY COURSE 
Our Summer Holiday program celebrates the great outdoors. Program participants enjoy swimming, paddle boating, or stand up paddle boarding on Lake Constance, cycling tours, or soaking up the sun with a game of beach volleyball by the lake.

WINTER HOLIDAY COURSE
There are plenty of fun ways to practice your German in our Winter Holiday program, even if it's stormy and snowing outside. Program participants can try ice skating, sledding, play table tennis, go to the movies, visit a museum, go bowling, or play (indoor) beach volleyball. The program highlight: if snow conditions are good, an all-day ski trip to Austria or Switzerland (advanced skiers only).

ACCOMMODATION
Depending on the type of course, we offer various accommodation options in Radolfzell on Lake Constance. We take great care in selecting accommodations for our program participants to ensure that their specific needs meet and they feel at home. This is especially important for younger participants, who are often spending their first holiday on their own away from home.

GERMAN LANGUAGE CAMPS FOR KIDS 11 - 14 YEARS OLD
Adventure Farm
Participants stay together with their camp counselors at the Lochmuehle adventure farm, about 17 kilometers from Radolfzell. There are lots of fun activities at Lochmuehle, as well as a lot of different kidns of farm animals. Girls and boys sleep in separate group studios, each of which has a maximum of 15 beds on two floors and a private bathroom (shower, toilets, sink). Bed linen is provided. Breakfast and dinner are served in the adjacent restaurant, and participants have lunch in Radolfzell. Half board is available on weekends. Camp counselors take the students to class in Radolfzell using public transport in the mornings.

GERMAN COURSES FOR TEENS 15 - 17 YEARS OLD
Participants in the Summer/Winter Holiday Courses stay at the Carl Duisberg residence, or with a carefully selected homestay family. They receive full board on course days and half board on the weekend. We strongly recommend that students under 16 stay with a homestay family, where younger participants receive more individual care.

Homestay families
Our homestay families enjoy intercultural exchange and look forward to hosting international course participants from all over the world. Teens benefit from total immersion into everyday life in Germany. Homestay families are not always families in the traditional sense and include single people. single parents, and individuals sharing apartments. If multiple guests are staying in the same house, we make sure that they do not speak the same native language.

Usually, guest students have their meals with the homestay family. On weekends, they can often prepare small meals themselves, but general cooking facilities are not usually provided. Times and eating habits may be unlike what students are used to at home. In Germany, breakfast and dinner are sometimes cold meals with bread, jam, cereal and fruit as well as colds meats, cheeses, and salad.

Residence
International students from all over the world stay at our residence, which is on the outskirts of Radolfzell in a quiet but also convenient location. The rooms are simple and functional. Students have access to a shared bathroom (shower, toilet, sink) and a kitchen. We provide bed linen and crockery, and there is also a washing machine and dryer.

Our High School Program in Germany combines foreign language learning with an extended stay abroad. Studying abroad is an important part of a well-rounded educational experience and a student's personal development.

Students benefit from a total immersion experience during a full or half-year stay in Germany. The Carl Duisberg Training Center Radolfzell organizes school placements for students, generally in the 9th or 10th grade. The school year consists of two six-month terms: The firstterms begins between August and September, depending on the German federal state, and the second in January/February.

SCHOOL SELECTION
Based on the participant's personal and academic profile, Carl Duisberg Centren selects a suitable school. We provide placements options in public schools and in private schools (with school fees), all of which have their own unique profile and specialties.

Lessons in Geography, History, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Social Studies, etc. are taught in German, and we recommend that students have level B2 (CEFR) language skills, but at least B1. Most of our partner schools are in the Lake Constance region, but we are also happy to arrange for school placement in other locations. 

SUPPORT DURING YOUR STAY
The experienced team at the Carl Duisberg Training Center takes care of all communication between schools and parents in advance. We are also available to answer any questions during the students' stay and make sure they receive comprehensive support. While in Germany, students live with a German homestay family. We know all of the carefully selected homestay families personally, and the families have all gone through a rigorous selection process before joining our homestay program.

Additional preparation in the form of language courses and cultural training contributes greatly to a student's success at a German school. Carl Duisberg Centren offers a high quality preparatory program consisting of an intensive German language course, a specialized math and science language course as well as English language training. The students' learning process is supported by individual supplementary work in our language lab. To attend a school in Germany, we recommend a language level of B2 (CEFR) in German and a level of B1 (CEFR) in English. 

GERMAN COURSE
Students in the Preparatory Program attend a German Intensive Course with other participants in their age group as well as adults from all over the world. Our competent language teachers give regular feedback on individual progress. In the language lab, students can expand their language skills and receive individual assistance as needed. Outside of the group courses, our experienced instructors are always available to guide the students through the learning process and to answer any questions. In addition, we offer different workshops every week, and the students have unlimited access to online materials. 

SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE COURSE AND ENGLISH TRAINING
The sciences, in particular, are filled with many technical terms. To help prepare them for these subjects, students learn mathematical and scientific terminology and technical language structure in group course once they have reached the level B1. In addition, the students have English training in small groups twice a week in order to improve their existing English skills.

LEISURE PROGRAM
We offer a new activity program each week as an additional opportunity for the students to improve their communication skills. This way the course participants can practice their newly acquired language skills with other young people from around the world in a relaxed environment.

ACCOMMODATION AND SUPERVISION
During the Preparatory Program, students stay with carefully selected homestay families in Radolfzell and the surrounding area. This type of total immersion gives the students the opportunity to experience everyday German family life and get to know the country and its culture before their school term begins. Apart from the homestay family, the Carl Duisberg Training Center team is also available during the students' entire stay, should they have any questions.
