English courses are delivered in our 19th Century English building, which has a spacious interior with modern facilities. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards which make English lessons more motivating, engaging and up-to-date. Throughout the school, WiFi is available free of charge and we also have a computer room. Our 4K on-site private cinema shows the latest films regularly to our students, helping to improve English listening skills. Anglolang’s orangery style café provides a comfortable place to make new international friends and enjoy snacks as does our large garden.
With a dedicated team and a friendly and professional atmosphere, all students can receive individual attention while studying English at Anglolang. In our British Council inspection 2015, strengths were noted in our care of students and care of under 18s, as well as accommodation, leisure opportunities and staff management, premises and facilities, English learning resources and academic management. Feedback consistently states that students have a great time while studying English at Anglolang and they enjoy our social programme which offers a wide range of activities, such as sports, dancing, theatre visits, discos and excursions to local towns and cities.

- IELTS exam preparation courses
If you need to pass IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) to progress in your studies or work, Anglolang's IELTS preparation course will maximise your chance of succeeding in the exam.

The Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) is the second highest level Cambridge ESOL exam, at level C1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
If you need to reach a standard of English that is appropriate for most situations, including social and professional situations, you should aim to pass the Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) examination. If you can join a Cambridge English course for 8 – 12 weeks, Anglolang’s course is a good choice for you. It is a highly intensive Cambridge English course in small groups of 8 students maximum who are all preparing for the Cambridge advanced examination.

- Summer intensive courses
This Summer Intensive English course is perfect if you want to join a course during late June, July or August to improve your English in a group for 28 hours per week.
This Summer Intensive English course will:
- increase your confidence when communicating in English
- help you to use English more effectively
- help you to speak more accurately and fluently
- improve your grammar
- increase your vocabulary
- improve your pronunciation
- provide an opportunity to learn about a place of cultural interest during our Wednesday study visits
- Summer vacation for families
This fun English course is perfect if you want to come to Anglolang in Summer as a family with each family member joining Intensive English classes in the morning (grouped according to age and level) and the whole family joining social activities together in the afternoon.
- In the afternoon there is a choice of activities, such as:
Sport – including swimming, mini-golf, badminton, basketball, football, volleyball
Sightseeing – including Scarborough castle, a guided town tour and Peasholm Park
Cultural visits, including Scarborough Rotunda Museum, Scarborough Art gallery
Other activities – such as Scarborough Sea Life Centre, a mini sea cruise
Every Wednesday there is a full-day guided study visit to a place of local interest such as York, Whitby and Leeds. There are also optional weekend excursions for an additional cost.
- Professional English courses
There are three main course options for those who need professional English training in order to improve their professional English and/or business skills at Anglolang. Firstly, it is possible to join an Intensive English group course and combine this with private Professional English classes in order to focus on specific needs. Secondly, we offer a one week Professional English course entitled Effective Communication for Professionals and finally, we offer a one week Professional English course entitled Intercultural Training for Professionals.
All Professional English training courses at Anglolang aim to:
- increase your confidence when communicating in English in a professional environment
- help you to use English more effectively at work
- help you to speak more accurately and fluently in English
- improve your English grammar

Anglolang Academy of English offers a range of Summer English courses to suit individuals, school groups and families.
All Summer English Courses provide motivating and fun English lessons which will:

All of our Summer English Courses include a study visit on Wednesdays to a place of local interest.
- Spring and autumn courses
This English course is perfect if you, your children or the whole family want to improve your English during the German spring and autumn school holidays.
The morning English lessons will:

- help you to speak more accurately and fluently

In the afternoon you are free to enjoy your own activities in Scarborough.
